Learn to become a high grade woodworker / maker
In this course participants will learn a broad range of fundamental techniques for building with wood. By working together through an introductory but thorough project, we will cover woodworking issues from design and layout to production. Participants will learn to use a table saw, router, band saw, drill press, and hand tools with a variety of materials, while learning essential skills that can be applied to woodworking projects from furniture to small crafts.
About the Instructor
Andy Holtin has been teaching and working in shops for over fifteen years, producing everything from furniture to robots. Andy holds an MFA in Sculpture and Extended Media and is currently a professor of art at American University. There is little he enjoys more than being in the shop and showing other people how great it is in there.
